Hi everyone,
I'm Kristen, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit on behalf of my brother, Aaron Greene.
Earlier this year, Aaron was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer. Since then, he has bravely undergone surgery followed by multiple cycles of chemotherapy—but sadly, the cancer has not responded to treatment. Doctors have now told us that without access to a viable clinical trial, his time may be limited.
Aaron is so much more than a patient. He is a loving husband to Erika, a devoted father to their daughter Nola, a cherished son and grandson, a steadfast brother, a fun and caring uncle, and a loyal friend to so many. He is the heart of his family and a constant source of warmth, wisdom, and humor to everyone who knows him. Watching him face this disease with courage and grace has been both inspiring and heartbreaking.
We’re doing everything we can to give him a fighting chance. But navigating the world of clinical trials is expensive, stressful, and often overwhelming. Many of the most promising trials are out of state, and insurance doesn’t cover the full scope of what’s needed to pursue them—travel, lodging, out-of-network care, and other essential costs.
As he’s had to step away from work to focus on treatment, the transition from short-term to long-term disability has significantly reduced their household income. Like many families, their budget was already stretched—just barely making ends meet. Now, with his reduced benefits, their financial stability has been deeply impacted. And yet, through it all, his greatest concern isn’t for himself—it’s for Erika and Nola’s future. More than anything, he wants to make sure they are safe, supported, and cared for—no matter what lies ahead.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
- Travel and temporary housing near trial sites
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Supportive care during treatment
- Everyday living costs to relieve the financial pressure
- Long-term stability for Erika and Nola
Every donation, share, and kind word brings us closer to giving Aaron the opportunity to fight for more time—with Erika and Nola, and with all of us who love him.
If you’ve ever met Aaron, you know what a generous and thoughtful person he is. If you haven’t, I hope you’ll help us make sure the world gets more time to know him. He deserves every chance we can give him.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and standing with our family.
With love and gratitude,
Kristen
