Hi, my name is Grace. I’m reaching out to family, friends, and my community to ask for support for my brother, who is currently in the ICU battling severe symptoms from ulcerative colitis.

In 2005, my brother was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a chronic autoimmune disease that causes painful inflammation in the colon. It can lead to severe abdominal pain, bleeding, fatigue, and serious complications, and flare-ups can be unpredictable and, at times, life-threatening.

Right now, my brother is in the ICU experiencing severe symptoms, including significant GI bleeding, which has led to hospitalization and multiple blood transfusions. This is his second hospitalization this month, and on Sunday, he fainted three times from the severity of the bleeding, but God was watching over him as he did not suffer any injuries from his falls. He has not been able to work for most of October. His body is working hard as doctors focus on helping him regain strength and stabilize his health.

He’s my only brother, and right now this is the only way I feel I can help him. I have 3 kiddos who love him tremendously, and they need their uncle to get better.

He does have health insurance, but it is limited, and there will be significant out-of-pocket medical expenses in addition to living costs and lost income.

I’m reaching out to family, friends, and my community for support during this difficult time. Donations will help cover medical bills, ICU and hospital costs, living expenses, and lost income while he focuses fully on recovery.

I’ve set this goal at $50,000 to help cover the ongoing medical expenses, ICU care, and hospital bills, as well as living expenses and lost income. This amount also provides a small buffer for any unexpected costs as he works to regain his health.
