Help my brother recover from Guillain-Barré Syndrome
Donation protected
Dear friends, family and compassionate hearts,
My name is Tarhata and I live in the Netherlands. I am reaching out on behalf of my brother in the Philippines, Saaduding — a devoted husband and a loving father of three young children — who is now in critical condition, battling a rare and life-threatening illness.
Just a few days ago my brother was rushed to a hospital in Manila after suddenly experiencing weakness and unusual sensations in his arms and legs. He was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) — a rare and aggressive autoimmune disorder that attacks the peripheral nerves. In just a matter of days, he went from being active and independent to partially paralyzed and unable to stand on his own or move without assistance. He is now confined to the Critical Care Unit, and his condition requires immediate and intensive treatment. Unfortunately, because GBS is a rare disease with costly treatment protocols, it is not covered by his current health insurance. This means his family has to shoulder the full cost out of pocket. The most urgent and essential part of his treatment is IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) therapy which alone, we were told, will cost approximately €8,000. On top of this, there are mounting expenses for his hospital stay, daily nursing care, and other laboratory tests.
My brother is the sole provider of his family. He supports not only his wife and three children but also his elderly in-laws who live with them. If you know my brother, you know he is not one to ask for help. He has always put others before himself. But now, he needs us. His family needs us. So I am reaching out with this fundraiser — to ask for your support, love and generosity. We are aiming to raise €10,000 to help my brother through this painful and uncertain time. The money we receive will go directly toward his IVIG treatment, hospital bills, laboratory procedures, other medications and therapy.
We would like to ask if you are able, to please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. Any amount can make a difference in bringing hope and healing. We will provide transparent updates throughout his treatment and recovery. And we will be deeply grateful for your time, compassion and support. Your generosity will help give my brother a fighting chance —and give his children hope for a future with their father.
With heartfelt thanks,
Tarhata & family
