Help Fund My Partner’s Emergency Move
Donation protected
Hello everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Justin, and I am looking for emergency funding to move my boyfriend from Utah to Maryland. The money would be used for the moving truck (~$2500), motels (~$200) and gas (~$800). I have adjusted the goal down to account for external donations.
After surviving an abusive relationship of ten years, I wasn't sure if I was worthy of love, let alone if I would find it again. Just when I was ready to give up, Gabe came into my life. He not only taught me how to love again, but that it was okay to love myself. Although we're certain about our future together, his living situation has become anything but certain.
Utah has been pushing legislation that would strip away many of the basic human rights the transgender community has fought hard for. One such bill takes away the right to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with, punishable by jailtime. This isn't the only precarious situation Gabe has dealt with. Within the past year, despite providing everything he was asked, his disability status is constantly being called into question. His benefits could be stripped as early as March, and with it, his ability to pay for food, and shelter. I am ready and willing to move him to Maryland, with me, and to start our lives together. The only thing I lack is the means to do so. We have contacted the local resources and sanctuaries for assistance in moving but have not heard back. I humbly ask for your help. This is not only an escape for Gabe, but a start to our lives together.
Thank you for your time.
