When I lost a beloved 6 year old cat in 2017 to kidney failure, I swore to never get a pet again. In 2024, I was finally ready to open my heart and adopt my current dog, Tango. I can’t even tell you how much this dog means to my family and me. He’s brought so much joy and healing into our lives, and I’m so grateful for every moment with him.
This morning (4/19/26), we woke up and noticed a lump the size of a thumb on the left side of his neck. We rushed to the emergency vet, hoping for the best, but the vet came back with heartbreaking news: my baby has lymphoma. He’s not even 2 years old yet. We want to fight as soon and as hard as possible to give him the best chance. My Care Credit is almost used up from caring for my partner’s elder dog, and with no pet insurance after losing my job in January, we’re struggling to cover the costs.
We’re determined to pursue chemotherapy for Tango as soon as we know whether it’s T cell or B cell lymphoma. The costs for his treatment, medications, and ongoing care are more than we can manage on our own, but we want to do everything we can to help him fight this disease and keep making memories together. My partner and I love this dog more than anything. I thank my baby for being born every day. If you’re able to help in any way, it would mean the world to us and our sweet boy.
