Help my blind sister move to AZ

Hi, my name is Judi and I am fundraising for my sister Joanie who lives in a nursing home in NJ. Joanie, 82 years old, has been totally blind since birth and has never seen anything. Due to hurricane Ida, the nursing home got flooded and all of the residents evacuated to another nursing home owned by the same company. The care in the new place is not adequate. Joanie orders her food and she gets things that she didn’t order, didn’t want, cold, and inedible. The facility runs out of supplies like sheets, towels, hospital gowns, and they didn’t have hot water for two weeks!

I have wanted my sister to come to AZ where I live so we could be together. Now that we are both vaccinated, we decided that she could come to AZ, Her nursing home took her Social Security money and gave her $50.00 a month which is not much to live on. We want to replace some of her things that were destroyed in the flood. I will go to NJ to pack up what little she has and we’ll come back here to get her out of that place where she was neglected.

I’ve been helping Joanie for a long time, but I didn’t plan for this. It’s not easy asking for donations, but I want to get Joanie out of that nursing home as soon as possible! So we have to pay $2,000. a month out of pocket to a group home until ALTCS (Medicaid) accepts her. This could take 2 to 3 months! Between my round trip to NJ, her flight to AZ, the
