Help my bestie pay off the power co!

Hi all you kind friends. My best friend ever has had his power turned off because of a predatory contract on solar paneling (something I'm normally very much for - go renewable! ... but not at the expense of peoples' lights and heat). He's a hard and faithful worker - a grocer in Bakersfield CA, who deserves a better shake here, but can't work out a deal with his local power company unless it's the balance in full: $4000. He and one other housemate scrape to support his partner, his partially disabled sister, and two teen boys. He doesn't see any possible resolution to this for at least three months, while they sacrifice as they can the daily necessities to save cash to turn on the power again. I told him that I believe there is still good in the world. LET'S PROVE IT!
