Help my beagle boy Finley

UPDATE 8/5
We visited the neurologist today. For the first time this week, we have a little positivity. The Dr seems to have a good amount of hope for our boy. After an examination, he believes this could be a case of meningitis. He changed his steroid dose, and instructed us to monitor him for another 2 weeks for worsening symptoms.
Another waiting game. If he shows clear signs of being in more pain, has the head bobbing returning more frequently, or seems to really decline then we will be heading back. The next steps would then be an MRI and possibly a spinal tap. The Dr wants to be absolutely sure the medication route is not working for him before we try the expensive tests. He has to be off the steroids for a few weeks before a spinal tap can be performed regardless so this is the first step.
Here's to hoping this route does work for our boy. We still have a long way to go with no real definitive answer as to what could be causing this.

Finley Jay is a 9-month-old, energetic beagle. He is our baby and the SWEETEST boy there is. A soul dog for sure. I love him more than words can say.
5 days ago he injured his neck/back. We are unsure how he even did it. He was acting fine and then rapidly just started to decline. He went from playing to wanting to just lay down. Now it's almost impossible to get him to even stand or move to urinate. He has a constant muscle spasm in his neck that is so strong you can visibly see it rocking his body. He is in so much pain!!
We have had 3 emergency vet visits in the last 5 days a 1 to our regular vet. Sunday's visit was especially bad. He had a fever of 104.6° & elevated white blood cells. The vet wanted to perform an MRI but that could cost anywhere between 3 to 5k!!! My wife and I have already spent our extra funds on the last 4 visits and we are so scared. Over $1,000 and hardly any answers or results.
We were sent home with what we could do, bloodwork and more medications. They provided him with antibiotics, muscle relaxers, and steroids and sedatives, with fingers crossed he shows improvement in the next few days. But they were transparent about how concerned they were for his health.
I am scared to death of losing this baby. He is such a light in our life and I've bonded with him extremely. I'm really not sure how we would manage if we lost him. The heartbreak would be devastating.
Please, if you can help us at all, whether it be a donation or just advice from experiencing something like this, we could use it.
This is my last effort to help save my pup. He is so very much loved and hasn't even been on this earth a year yet! He needs more time.. We need more time with him.. I just want him to be okay. But an MRI really is the best shot to figured out what is going on with our boy.. I do NOT like asking for help but we've exhausted all other options.
Thank you for helping our precious boy. We are not ready to give up on him yet.
