Dear friends of humanity,

I'm Rana Alagha, a Palestinian who lives in the UK and I come to you with a story of resilience and hope, tinged with the pain of loss. It's the story of my aunt's family(Wessam Al Aggad, Waael Sarhan, Ahmad Sarhan, Rama Sarhan & Kamel Sarhan), who have faced trials beyond imagination in Gaza.

Wessam and Waael poured their hearts and every penny into building their home in Gaza, stone by stone. It wasn't just a house; it was a symbol of their dreams and aspirations. But then the war came, tearing through their lives like a merciless storm. Their home, the fruit of their labour and love, was reduced to rubble. Forcing them to evacuate multiple times since the beginning of the war in Gaza, until reaching temporary settlements on the streets. They were left with nothing, not even a penny to their name.

Now they live in a tent, pieced together from scraps, with no running water, no electricity, and no warmth of a home they once knew. It's a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the cruelty of fate. They are at risk of dying at any second, if not from bombs, it will be from starvation, dehydration or disease.

Their youngest son, Ahmad, battles asthma, a cruel companion worsened by the dusty air and harsh living conditions, Ahmad has no medications now due to the lack of health care . And Wessam, the backbone of the family, struggles with fainting spells and chest pains, her health deteriorating with each passing day, her health problem urgently needs to be investigated further and managed properly.

But amidst the despair, there is a glimmer of hope. They dream of starting anew in Egypt, where their elderly parents await them. It's a chance for a fresh start, a ray of light in the darkness of their existence.

Yet, to cross the Rafah border, they need 5000$ for each family member. It's a daunting sum, an impossible barrier without your help.

Adapting to survive, Wessam utilizes firewood to cook, hoping for a successful catch.
