My aunt has been bravely fighting cancer for many years. Her journey began with breast cancer, which affected both breasts. She underwent a double mastectomy and completed chemotherapy. After treatment, she had a period of recovery and stability.

Sadly, some years later, the cancer returned and spread to her liver. Her doctors restarted chemotherapy and informed us that multiple tumors were present and the situation was serious. Thankfully, she responded better than expected, and for a time her condition improved.

Later, she began suffering from severe bone pain. After nuclear scans and PET imaging, doctors discovered that the cancer had spread to her bones. She then started additional treatment, including radiotherapy, because some areas of her skull were also affected. Her doctors warned that even a simple fall could cause serious complications because her bones have become so fragile.

For years, one of the most important medicines helping her has been Xgeva, as it greatly helps reduce her pain and allows her to live more comfortably. However, we cannot afford this medication anymore.

Ever since not being able to afford Xgeva, she in constant pain and needs morphine regularly. Doctors even discussed placing a morphine pump because the replacement medicine is not helping enough. We were told clearly: we must find the original injection.

Our family has carried the cost of her treatment for years. My aunts and mother have helped however they could. But life circumstances have changed - retirement, rising living expenses, and illness in our own family have made it impossible to continue alone. My mother also developed cancer and complications that left her unable to work.

We are not asking lightly. We are simply at a point where we cannot afford the high market cost of this medication, yet we also cannot bear to watch our loved one suffer in pain.
