Help my arm and hand come back to life!
Hello my name is Daniel Parsons I am a 25 years old with a passion for others, marketing, and sports.
On the morning of July 19 I woke up like any other morning except that my arm and hand had fallen asleep from sleeping on it. Thinking that the normal shaking and movement of my dominant right arm and hand would bring it back to life I did so as anyone would. Confused as to why it wasn’t coming back I just brushed it off and continue with my morning routine thinking it would come back to life soon. It never did. Calling my mother and explaining what happened she encouraged me to go to urgent care. Upon the doctor seeing me at urgent care she told me to get to the closest emergency room as fast as I could. Next thing I know I’m in the emergency room until 1:30 am when I’m released after a CT scan and numerous other tests. Finding out that this wasn’t a seizure the doctors had no answers as to why my fingers, wrist, and arm were paralyzed. Finally a week and half later with many phone calls and pleading with nurses I got an appointment that day with a neurologist to hopefully get some answers as to why my right fingers, wrist, and arm were paralyzed. Explaining to the neurologist that I fell asleep like any other night and woke up like any other morning and how and where my right hand and arm felt numb and could not move he came to what he thinks is radial nerve compression in the arm resulting from direct pressure. It typically follows deep sleep on the arm. To be sure I have to have an EMG and due to COVID they are so backed up I can not get one until November. If the neurologist is right then the EMG will confirm his diagnosis. If not I will have to have an MRI.
This being said I am unable to work because it is my dominant hand and arm that are paralyzed. With numerous doctor bills stacking up and still ones to come I could use all the prayers and help I can get. This injury if the neurologists diagnosis is correct can take up to 3 months to heal and may never be 100% healed again. That’s why prayers are so greatly appreciated. If you feel led to help by giving I’ll never be able to pay you back just know you are helping me more then you can imagine. Prayers are just as good is not better then money.
