My name is Richard Larson, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart. My 14-year-old son has been diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter’s disease, a condition that causes intense knee pain and swelling right below the kneecap. For most kids, it goes away with rest — but in his case, it’s gotten so severe that his doctor says surgery is the only option left.
He used to be the kid who couldn’t sit still — always running, playing basketball, biking around the neighborhood. Now, some mornings, he can barely make it up the stairs. Watching him go from full of life to limping in pain every day has been heartbreaking.
The worst part? His surgery isn’t fully covered by insurance. Between the surgical costs, anesthesia, hospital fees, and physical therapy, we’re looking at around $15,000 — money we simply don’t have. I’m a parent trying to hold it together, but it’s hard knowing my child is suffering because of something I can’t afford.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward:
His surgery and recovery care
Post-op physical therapy so he can regain strength
Travel and time off work for medical appointments
We just want him to be able to run again. To play sports again. To be a kid again.
If you can donate, share, or even just say a prayer for him, it would mean the world to us. I never imagined I’d be asking strangers for help, but right now, this is our only hope.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, sharing, and caring. ❤️
