Help My 10-Year-Old Niece Genre Go Home from the Hospital

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Jane, and I am creating this fundraiser for my 10-year-old niece, Genre Briones, who is currently hospitalized in the Philippines due to severe kidney disease.

Although Genre has now been medically cleared to go home, she cannot be discharged from the hospital until the remaining balance of her medical bill is paid.

As of March 4, 2026, Genre’s running hospital bill has already reached ₱807,037 (approximately $14,000 USD) and continues to increase while she remains in the hospital.

With the help of government assistance and generous support from relatives and friends, about ₱325,000 (approximately $5,800 USD) has already been raised toward her medical expenses. Our family is incredibly grateful for this support.

However, there is still a remaining balance of approximately ₱482,000 (about $8,500 USD) that must be settled before Genre can finally go home and continue her recovery.

To help cover the remaining balance and any additional hospital fees, currency conversion costs, and medical expenses that may arise, we have set this fundraiser goal at $10,000.

Genre is a sweet and kind-hearted little girl who loves Taylor Swift, the color purple, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She dreams of traveling the world one day. As the youngest member of her family, she brings so much joy and light to everyone around her.

Although Genre appeared to be a healthy baby growing up, doctors later discovered that she was born with underdeveloped kidneys. She was diagnosed with Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease on August 13, 2023, after becoming seriously ill and requiring hospitalization.

Since then, Genre has been dialysis dependent. She undergoes dialysis at home every four hours, every day, just to stay alive. For a child her age, this has been incredibly difficult, as her life now revolves around treatments, medications, and hospital visits instead of the normal childhood activities she wishes she could enjoy.

Despite everything she faces, Genre continues to show incredible courage and strength. She is a very funny child with a bright and positive outlook on life, and she often talks about her dreams and the things she hopes to do in the future after she receives a new kidney.

Moments like these remind us why we continue to fight for her recovery and why we are asking for help—to give Genre the chance to grow up, pursue her dreams, and live the life every child deserves.

Unfortunately, on February 9, 2026, Genre was rushed to the emergency room due to dangerously low blood pressure. What initially seemed like an emergency admission became a prolonged and critical hospitalization.

During her stay, she had to be transferred to the ICU due to complications involving unstable blood pressure, potassium levels, heart complications related to her kidney disease, and severe electrolyte imbalances. She required intensive monitoring, repeated interventions, and continuous dialysis management inside the hospital.

Since her diagnosis, Genre has undergone numerous medical procedures. She receives frequent laboratory tests, blood transfusions, and has already undergone four surgeries—three for the insertion of her dialysis catheter and one for hernia repair.

For the past month, Genre’s family has been staying by her side in the hospital while she continues fighting through this difficult time.

Beyond this hospitalization, Genre will continue to require ongoing dialysis treatments, medications, medical supplies, and eventually a kidney transplant to give her the chance for a better future.

I am humbly asking for help on behalf of Genre and her family during this incredibly difficult time.

Any donation, no matter how small, will help settle the remaining hospital bill so Genre can finally go home and continue her treatments.

Your support will also help with:

• Remaining hospital bills needed for her discharge
• Genetic testing and medical evaluations
• Medications and follow-up care
• Future kidney transplant preparation and medical needs

If you are unable to donate, I would be deeply grateful if you could share this fundraiser and keep Genre in your prayers.

Every share, prayer, and act of kindness brings Genre one step closer to going home.

Our greatest hope right now is simply to bring Genre home and support her fight toward a healthier future.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read her story and for any kindness, prayers, or support you may extend.

With gratitude,
Jane
