Help Mustache through Cancer Treatment

Meet Mustache, a funny, high-energy, charismatic, intelligent, and gentle 7-year-old tuxedo kitty. He has brought us so much light over the years, as I’m sure he has for any who have had the pleasure of meeting him, and we consider him to be our biggest blessing.

A couple of weeks ago, we noticed some odd behavior from our little guy. He was limping all about the house, and we knew we should get him seen immediately. The vet figured it was probably a strained muscle, but it turned out to be much more. His limp worsened, and we got him into an emergency appointment this morning. The vet found a rare form of osteosarcoma in his right shoulder, and has determined that the only form of treatment he can get to ensure the cancer does not spread will be an emergency amputation procedure within the coming weeks. This procedure will cost about $2,000, based on a quote they graciously gave us in advance, and we are beyond thankful for the many selfless vets working overtime and providing an affordable yet top-notch procedure for our baby.

This procedure will save his life and give him many more happy years in the sun and snuggled up in his favorite hammock. We fully anticipate years more of bliss with him. I believe he’ll be there the day our children are born, the day I walk across the graduation stage, the grand opening of Kenya’s restaurant, and so many more milestones. There is simply no other reality.
