Mussie is a 20-year-old Ethiopian-Eritrean adoptee who urgently needs resources. He is currently facing eviction and the possibility of becoming homeless again.
After coming to the United States, Mussie was kicked out of his adoptive parents’ home at just 15 years old and left to fend for himself. He experienced homelessness off and on for several years until, at 18, he was finally able to secure housing.
For about a year and a half, Mussie had some stability, but he lost his job due to health issues and has struggled to find steady employment ever since.
THE NEED RIGHT NOW:
Mussie hasn’t been able to pay his August rent of $850 and will be evicted if he can’t pay September’s rent by the 1st. He’s asking for at least $2,000 to cover both months’ rent, unpaid bills, and food until he can receive food stamps.
Cost Breakdown:
August: $850
September: $850
Unpaid utilities and food until food stamps kick in: $500
Your support can help Mussie keep his home, meet basic needs, and avoid falling back into homelessness.
