My name is Museera Meeran, a 17-year-old chess player from South Africa, and I have just qualified to represent my country at two major international tournaments in 2026.
I earned my spot by winning 1st place in the Under-18 Girls section at the South African Junior Closed Chess Championship 2026. This qualification means I will proudly wear the South African colours at:
1) Africa Youth Chess Championships 2026 (Entebbe, Uganda, 14–23 May 2026)
2) FIDE World Youth Chess Championship 2026
These are incredible opportunities to compete against the best young players from across Africa and the world. Representing South Africa on the global stage will be a dream come true and a huge step in my development as a chess player.
However, the costs of travelling, accommodation, visas, flights, tournament fees, uniforms and other expenses are very high.
As a federation, Chess South Africa supports young talent like me, but they rely on sponsors and kind donations from people like you to make these trips possible.
Every Euro you donate will help me represent South Africa with pride, gain priceless international experience, and continue growing as one of the country’s top young chess talents. Your support will not only help me — it will help put South African chess on the map.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and helping me make chess history.
