My dad, William Musa, is battling stage 4 kidney cancer, and he needs your help. Just a few months ago, he was a vibrant, active man. Now, he's facing a grueling fight for his life.

This photo with him and his dog, Sunny marks the day he received the news of his diagnosis: May 31st, 2024. For months while the cancer was spreading through his body, he continued to work, enduring the pain. The cancer is a very rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer. He has been in and out of the ER and bedridden every week since, with compounding life-threatening emergencies and complications from cancer. In the span of two weeks, he was diagnosed with cancer that is rapidly spreading, dislocated his shoulder that has rendered the arm useless, and had a stroke. He currently cannot walk.

Recently my family was notified that our insurance declined a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan, which assists doctors in identifying how well the body’s organs and tissue's function. This unpredictable medical emergency has further exacerbated the financial strain on my family. The cost of life-saving medical treatments is not only expensive but necessary to enable my dad to continue his fight.

While my family was proactive and utilized a health savings account to cover co-pay expenses, the money set aside for the health savings account has been depleted as it was used to cover the initial doctor visits, ER visits, scans, and labs. To continue accessing the crucial care my father so desperately needs, I ask you to lend a helping hand to my mentor, my friend, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and most importantly my father.

Just a few months ago he started his immunotherapy treatments and is experiencing the harsh side effects. The shock of his diagnosis has been devastating for our family. We've watched him endure countless hospital stays, painful treatments, and debilitating side effects. Despite the challenges, he remains strong, buoyed by the love and support of his loved ones.
