Help Me Save My Sweet Murphie
Hey friends – I wish I were writing under better circumstances, but my Murphie girl needs your help.
Earlier this month, I discovered a lump on Murphie’s throat and took her to the vet right away. My worst fear was confirmed: she has thyroid cancer. She’s scheduled for surgery on May 19th to remove the mass and her left thyroid (dogs actually have two!).
We’re hoping this surgery will be the only step in her cancer journey, but there’s a chance she may also need chemo and/or radiation. If we can tackle this now, it could give me 2–3 more years with my best girl.
Murphie has been by my side for 9 amazing years, adventuring all over the country. She’s more than a pet – she’s family. She’s my shadow, my silly, sweet, ball-chasing, lake-loving best friend who still acts like a goofy puppy. I would do absolutely anything for more time with her.
To be transparent, I recently stepped away from my nursing job in April to focus on my mental health (because healthcare is brutal, y’all). I planned to spend a couple of months resting, recharging, and spending time with my fur babies and family before returning to travel nursing in June. And then… this happened.
Asking for help is so hard for me, but here I am – doing it for her. If you’re able to give anything at all, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit helps. Whether it's a donation, a share, or simply a kind word — I’m deeply grateful for the love and support.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart
