Mumbles is a six-year-old Pitbull mix with a gentle soul and a remarkable story of survival. After living on the streets and losing a front limb, Mumbles was rescued by a kind woman in Clovis. Unfortunately, due to her physical condition and breed, she was at high risk of being euthanized at the city shelter. That’s when Susan, a lifelong animal advocate who once ran the nonprofit Pathways to Healing, stepped in to adopt Mumbles and give her a second chance at life.
Since joining Susan, Mumbles has become a beloved companion not only to her but also to the residents of Susan’s assisted living facility. Despite her challenges, Mumbles greets everyone with a sweet, mumbling sound and brings joy to those around her. However, the loss of her limb has led to significant arthritis, back issues, and loss of core strength. Physical and drug therapies have been recommended to manage her pain and prepare her for a custom wheelchair, which will help her move safely and comfortably.
Susan’s own health struggles and limited finances make it impossible for her to cover the ongoing costs of Mumbles’ care. With your support, Mumbles can receive the therapy and mobility device she needs to live a pain-free, happy life. Every contribution will help ensure that this resilient dog continues to bring love and comfort to Susan and her community.
