On Wednesday 19/08/2026 my 60 y/o mum was attacked while Doordashing by rock throwers in Merriwa.

The rock was huge and if it landed on her passenger side it was big enough to seriously injure her.

Usual teenage suspects... unfortunately even though she is not at fault and is a victim of a crime, full comprehensive insurance doesn't cover the back windscreen and we have to pay $150 excess and also increases premiums, because they are juniors, they can't be at fault. The rear windscreen without insurance is $380.

My beautiful mum doordashes to pay our rent and food, I'm a full time uni student and only work casually, times are really tough and I just feel so awful and upset that now she can't drive while the car gets repairs and basically has to pay all she has earnt. She runs a food pantry and gives so much to this community.

I'm hoping to raise $400-500 so we can pay for the new windscreen privately. As the kids are underage the premiums go up so we want to avoid this. She also is unable to drive during the next couple of days so this would help us out with rent and food.
