Hi everyone!
My 15 year old brother Hamish has been battling with a brain tumour since he was 6. He has had three major brain surgeries, two of which were resections. After an MRI beginning of this year, they discovered another tumour of the same type growing on his spine. He is part of a trial receiving chemotherapy - Carboplatin and Vincristine to help reduce both tumours, however at the instruction of his oncologist both chemotherapies have been stopped due to bad neuropathy and a grade 3 anaphylactic reaction. We are currently waiting for the next MRI in December before his oncologist decides how to proceed. Treatment will most likely extend until the end of next year atleast. It is an uncertain time and brings with it a lot of fear and anxiety as it feels like between surgery and chemo, Hamish continues to bravely fight off the effects of these horrible tumours on his body. To make day to day life more manageable for mum being a single parent, I am asking if anyone is in a position to donate to ease the financial stress mum has been dealing with. Mum cares for Hamish, all while juggling full time work, his therapy sessions and all hospital appointments. Once treatment starts back up for Hamish, mum will most likely have to cut down to part time work. We have been housing a student to help ease the financial load but we are unable to do that at the moment as study tours have slowed down for the year. We won’t get another student until next year sometime.
Funds will be used to help pay rent, utility bills, cover hospital parking and petrol costs etc. We totally understand not everyone is in a position to donate with current cost of living but if you are, we would be most appreciative so mum can concentrate on caring for Hamish without the added stress of how she will pay the bills.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts everyone for all the continuous love and support you continue to show Hamish, mum and I ❤️
