Help Mulder See Again: Support Cataract Surgery

My name is Chelsea. In 2019, my husband and I brought home the sweetest puppy I could ask for. Now, let me start with this: I was not wanting a new puppy. I fought my husband on this because we had lost our previous dog to bone cancer. I was afraid to open up my heart again to a new puppy and experience that heartbreak again. I eventually agreed it was time for a new fur baby in our home.
My husband had his name picked out before we got him. He was going to be Mulder. Yes, from X-Files. Mulder was the runt of the litter and still wasn't adopted by 12 weeks, and we knew we needed to take him home with us.
Fast forward 5 years, Mulder is still the sweetest dog I could ask for. He is a Scooby-Doo through and through. He gets spooked easily from the morning birds out in the yard and despises the common housefly buzzing in his ear. He is so incredibly loved and spoiled, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Only at 5 years, Mulder is now completely blind from cataracts that quickly developed within a year and a half. Just recently, it was an overnight change where he can no longer see and enjoy his daily zoomies in the backyard. Unfortunately, cataract surgery to help repair his vision is very, very expensive, running thousands of dollars. Asking for assistance is not something we normally would do, but with the rising prices and inflation, we need help with this. Anything helps. We want to be able to give Mulder the best life, with lots of backyard zoomies.
Update: Mulder went to his surgery evaluation December 10th and was confirmed to have cataracts in both eyes. He was quoted 3300-3500 for both eyes. We will be scheduling his Cataract Surgery in January 2025
Update: Mulder's Cataract Surgery has gone so well! He is a happy boy recovering at home!
