Hello everyone, my name is Amanda Beaule from Connecticut, USA. This is my second gofundme campaign that I am facilitating. I am a strong advocate for the Palestinian people (and all oppressed people). These special individuals are the relatives of the other campaign I am running. Lamya Ghilan’s father, Akram Mahamoud Ghilan,
mother, Mervat Ali Yousef, and little brother, Mohannad. I will let Mohannad, express to you their situation:
“I am Muhannad from Gaza. I am 14 years old. My father is 57 years old and my mother is 52 years old. I used to live a very beautiful life. My biggest dream is to go to school and then return to help my father in our clothing store, which was our only source of income, and then return to my warm bed. But our lives were upended and destroyed in the blink of an eye. Since the start of the genocide, I have not been able to go to school. I have been deprived of my education. Then our clothing store was destroyed. We were told to move to Rafah. It has been very difficult. We are living through a great famine and the prices for the most basic foods are so high.
Water, which is the basis of grain, is not available. My father and I walk long distances just to get some water every day and carry buckets.
In order for us to be able to survive, we need $500 every week, and this is impossible after the destruction of our only source of income.
My mother does not have gas for cooking because the price is very high. The price of a tank of gas is $250, so my mother lights a fire using wood to cook every day, and this is very difficult for my mother.
My goal and objective in this campaign:
1. Evacuate my family, which is my mother, father, and me. We need 7 thousand dollars per person, which will be paid to the Egyptian Ya Hala Company.
2. Survival. We need donations worth about $2000 every month so we can try to survive with the extremely high prices.
3: Complete my education abroad in order to find a bright future. Since I was young, I dreamed of being an architect. Your donation, whatever it is, makes a difference in our lives.
Even if it is $10, which is the price of a cup of coffee, please consider donating. Thank you very much for your time to read our story.”
If you are familiar with the process of being an asylum seeker/refugee, once in the country that they have fled to, they must start from scratch. The money is not only for obtaining the paperwork for them to leave to Egypt, it is also going to contribute to their basic needs, obtaining an apartment and providing for themselves while they are able to rebuild their lives in a new country.
Just imagine how hard you would work to find ways to save your family from a genocide. Please, consider donating or sharing. I will post updates and if you want to see video updates- follow me on @soyamandabeaule on IG.
Thank you ♥️
