My name is Sabrina, I’m from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. This fundraising initiative aims to provide essential aid and evacuation assistance for my friend, Muhammed and his family, who are currently trapped in Gaza, a place torn apart by conflict and suffering. Muhammed and his family are facing unimaginable hardships and danger on a daily basis, they fear for their lives as violence and instability continue to escalate around them. The situation in Gaza has become increasingly dire, with ongoing conflict, economic instability, and limited access to basic necessities. Tragedy has struck him and his family. The impact of nearby explosions has left him without a home, food, or clean water. Muhammed and his family were displaced 3 times, moving each time for a safe place. Muhammed is sheltered with his sister in Dier al-Balah, Gaza. Muhammed’s neighbourhood was destroyed during this war, which has so far killed over 35,000 Palestinians. The constant bombardments continue to threaten their lives resulting in hunger, collective trauma, and disease. The situation has become unbearable, and they can no longer stay in Gaza without risking their safety and well-being.

Before the war, Muhammed was a dedicated horticulturist whose passion lies in cultivating food for the people of Gaza. Working tirelessly in the region's challenging conditions, Muhammed's unwavering dedication to his craft embodies the spirit of resilience that characterizes Gazan society, making him a revered figure in the community. Muhammed's role transcended mere employment; he was an integral part of Gazan society, providing sustenance through his work.

Muhammed is a kind, compassionate, and hardworking individual who deserves a chance at a better life. Despite the obstacles he has faced, he remains resilient and hopeful for a brighter future. Muhammed would like the chance to start a new life in Canada with his family either through seeking asylum as a refugee and/or sponsorship. The journey to reach Canada comes with various obstacles, and Muhammed finds himself in desperate need of assistance to evacuate Gaza and facilitate his safe passage with his family via Egypt. Together, we can make a difference and give Muhammed and his family the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a place where they can live without fear.

Your generous donations will go towards covering the costs of Muhammed's family’s evacuation from Gaza, including travel expenses, day-to-day humanitarian needs, visa fees, and other expenses associated with seeking asylum in Canada. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in Muhammed's family’s journey to safety and freedom.

$6000 flight from Egypt to Canada.

$6000 clothes/humanitarian needs/furniture (resettlement)

$26,400 housing in Canada for 12 months

$6000 Food/transportation in Canada

$560 Exit Visa from Rafah/Egypt border

$120 transportation (Rafah to Cairo)

$2400 services (Canada visa, translation service, biometrics, passport fees)

$5250 ($250 X 21 days) Egypt Housing/meals (visa process time frame)

$800 legal documents (Certificate of Good Conduct, birth certificate, documents essential to relocating)

$4000 aid/provisions/shelter while waiting in Gaza

$3300 estimated Go Fund Me commission (3% of total raised)

OUR COMMITMENT

Please, we implore you to open your hearts and stand in solidarity with Muhammed’s family during this challenging time. Your support, whether big or small, will provide Muhammed’s family with the lifeline they desperately need to escape the horrors of conflict and start anew in Canada.

In the event that Muhammed’s family is unable to safely evacuate Gaza or reach their evacuation goal, due to the challenges entailed with evacuating Gaza, Muhammed’s family will use your generous donations to support them in rebuilding their lives. We will update you regularly on how funds are allocated. Please be comforted in the knowledge that your kind donation will be making a significant difference in preserving four human lives.
