Hello everyone, this is my friend Muhammad Magdy. I am Karissa from Louisiana, USA and I am helping my friend Muhammad and his five young siblings with this fundraiser. As you all know, the situation in Gaza is dire and every little bit raised helps this family tremendously. All of the money raised is sent to Muhammad directly from me via PayPal to help him and his family survive.
Here is Muhammad in his own words:
I am Muhammad Magdy from the Gaza Strip, and my story is one of resilience, hope, and determination in the face of unimaginable adversity. My home was destroyed in a bombing, leaving my family and me to live in a tent. Despite these challenges, I am determined to continue my education and support my family. Today, I reach out to you with a plea for help, not just for myself, but for my family and the future we aspire to create together.
The Situation in Gaza:
The Gaza Strip, a narrow piece of land along the Mediterranean Sea, has been enduring prolonged conflict and economic hardship. For many residents, including my family and me, daily life is a struggle for survival. The infrastructure is severely damaged, access to basic services like electricity and clean water is limited, and opportunities for work are scarce. In this environment, pursuing education becomes a monumental challenge, yet it is a crucial lifeline for many, including myself.

My Personal Struggle:
Born and raised in Gaza, I have always been passionate about learning, believing that education is the key to a better future. However, the ongoing conflict has disrupted my studies multiple times. Our home, once a place of safety and comfort, was reduced to rubble in a bombing. Now, we live in a makeshift tent, exposed to the harsh elements and lacking basic amenities.
Despite these hardships, I remain determined to continue my education. I attend school whenever possible, often studying by candlelight because we rarely have electricity. My teachers and peers inspire me to keep pushing forward, but the financial strain on my family makes it increasingly difficult to focus on my studies. We struggle to afford school supplies, uniforms, and even the transportation costs to get to school.
The Importance of Education:
Education is not just about gaining knowledge; it is about empowering oneself to break the cycle of poverty and build a better future. For me, education represents hope—a chance to develop the skills and knowledge needed to contribute positively to my community and to provide a more secure future for my family. With a solid education, I dream of becoming a teacher or an engineer, roles in which I can help rebuild and improve Gaza.
Supporting My Family:
My family’s situation is dire. My father, who was once the primary breadwinner, is unable to work due to injuries sustained during the bombings. My mother does her best to provide for us, but finding stable employment in Gaza is nearly impossible. As the eldest child, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to support my younger siblings and ensure they have the chance to pursue their dreams as well.
Every day is a battle to put food on the table. We often rely on humanitarian aid, but it is never enough. The scarcity of resources means that many nights we go to bed hungry. It breaks my heart to see my siblings suffer, and I am determined to change our circumstances. I want to ensure that they have enough to eat and can focus on their education without the constant worry of where their next meal will come from.
How You Can Help:
Your support can make a world of difference in our lives. By contributing to this campaign, you are not just helping me continue my education; you are providing my family with the means to survive and thrive. Here’s how your donations will be used:
Basic Needs: Contributions will help provide food, clean water, and other essential supplies for my family. This will alleviate our immediate financial stress and allow us to focus on rebuilding our lives.
Medical Care: My father requires ongoing medical treatment for his injuries. Your support will help cover the costs of his care, enabling him to recover and regain some level of normalcy.
Shelter Improvement: While living in a tent is our current reality, we hope to improve our living conditions. Funds will be used to secure safer, more stable housing, protecting us from the elements and providing a sense of security.
Educational Expenses: If any surplus funds, they will be allocated for school supplies, uniforms, books, and transportation. This will ensure that I can continue my studies without interruption.
A Vision for the Future:
My ultimate goal is to complete my education and use my knowledge to benefit my community. I want to be a beacon of hope for other young people in Gaza, showing them that despite the challenges, perseverance and hard work can lead to a better future. I dream of a day when Gaza is no longer defined by conflict and suffering, but by peace, prosperity, and opportunity.
A Personal Plea:
As I share my story, I am reminded of the countless other families in Gaza who are facing similar struggles. Your generosity can help us overcome these obstacles and pave the way for a brighter future. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to stability and hope.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for taking the time to read my story and consider supporting my family and me. Your kindness and compassion mean the world to us, and we are deeply grateful for any assistance you can provide.
Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can ensure that education and hope triumph over adversity. Thank you for being a part of our journey towards a better future.
If you are moved by our story, please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Your support will not only help me continue my education but also provide my family with the essential resources we need to survive. Together, we can make a profound impact on our lives and the lives of others in Gaza.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
