I am Aysha from the United Kingdom, creating this fundraiser for Muhammad, a 22 year-old university student living in Gaza.
“I am Muhammad Hatem Ahmad Al-Sawalihi, I am studying in the university college, third year, computer engineering, I am 22 years old, my family consists of 5 people, 3 girls, Reemas (17), Rital (14), Ruba (11), my brother Yusuf (20), my mum Randa (45) and dad Hatem (48). I live in the Gaza Strip, but I was displaced 19 times and settled in the Al-Zawaida area. I live in southern Gaza, the area to which we were displaced.”
Muhammad’s life has completely changed after October the 7th, 2023. He lost his house, his sisters and brother missed out on their education and was forced to move from his house in the North of Gaza.

Muhammad has been displaced with his family 19 times. He stayed in the North of Gaza for 5 months, not wanting to leave his house where he grew up; living in inhuman conditions of no food, no water, no basic necessities of life. He was forced to leave and had to evacuate by walking with this family for 20 km, for 8 hours, to reach a safer place.
Muhammad’s family is highly educated; his mother is an inspiring woman. She is a doctor and she has been practising her job in Gaza before and during the war. Her young daughters want to follow in her footsteps but they will not be able to if they do not leave Gaza.

Muhammad is hoping to rebuild his future, get his little sisters and his family to safety so that his sisters and his brother can continue studying and live like normal children of their age should.

Your donations will be used to:
• Provide basic necessities of food and drink in light of the economic crisis in Gaza and the extortionate prices that Gazan people are facing, where a bag of flour costs $100! One kilo of rice costs $20. One simple meal for one person currently costs $20 in Gaza.
• Provide medication for Muhammad’s father, Hatem, who was severely injured in the war and is in need of constant strong painkillers such as Gabapentin medication costing, $180, Trental (Pentoxifylline) medication due to his injuries, costing $150, Euceras (vildagliptin/ metformin) for his diabetes, costing $90, needed twice monthly.
• Provide necessary medicines for patients that are unable to buy them themselves in the hospital that Muhammad’s mother, Randa, works at. Antibiotics costing $25, medications for skin disease, which are very common right now in Gaza due to the lack of soap, such as neomycin costing $30.
• And most importantly, evacuating Gaza so that Muhammad and his family can reach safety, escape the war and start new safe lives. The permits needed to secure safe passing for adults will be $5,000 per adult and $2,500 for a child. In total, Muhammad needs $32,500 to evacuate his full family to Egypt, since they are seven with one child.
