Sometime Wednesday night, our sweet angel Mufasa knocked down a bottle of medication that broke open when it fell. He proceeded to eat quite a few of them, and we woke up to him experiencing symptoms of poisoning. He’s been hospitalized in the ICU since, where doctors revealed he had taken a huge blow to his kidneys. Our first prognosis was not good, with us being given the option to put him down. And we had the intent to, but when one last test was ran on his kidney levels, the vets had some good news. Right now, he is still being hospitalized in hopes that he will recover as we’ve seen a slight improvement.

We aren’t out the woods yet by far and have quite a long road of recovery ahead of us. We are raising these funds to save the life of our sweet baby. Mufasa (or Mumu, as we like to call him) turns 3 in October and is the sweetest boy we’ve had the honor to call ours since we rescued him from Miami Beach traffic at only two months old. He is a bonded cat and his sister Misty misses him an awful lot. We hope that we can bring him home to her. We are currently looking at a treatment plan that requires him to be intubated for 2-4 weeks with around the clock care and regular doctor’s visits.

Anything helps, really. We are so grateful for the support we’ve received from our community from the only option being euthanasia to now hope of recovery. As long as he continues to fight, we will too.
