This is me reading a Bible story to children and their parents in 2022. Mubiru Daniel is translating for me. He also translated for Kenny and continues to do so every time we go to Uganda.
PLEASE DONATE AND SHARE...he just had his pre-op done and is waiting for his surgery in February. Thank you so much!
Mubiru Daniel is a dear friend whom we have mentored for over a decade, ever since he was in high school. My husband and I have spent time encouraging him, especially as we saw his natural talent for teaching while he tutored younger students. With hard work and determination, Mubiru completed his teacher training and is now making a real difference as an educator in his community.
This past summer, while Mubiru was writing on a chalkboard at the village school where he teaches in Uganda, the frame suddenly fell and a two-inch splinter entered his eye. He managed to remove most of it himself, but a half-inch piece remained lodged in his eye. Emergency surgery was needed to remove it, but unfortunately, his cornea and retina were damaged. His doctor, who was on maternity leave, has now returned and is ready to perform the surgery Mubiru urgently needs to restore his vision.
The funds we are raising will go directly toward Mubiru’s surgery, doctor fees, and travel expenses. They will also help him get glasses to support his other eye, which has been strained since the injury. Helping Mubiru receive this care will not only restore his ability to teach, but will also benefit the many children he inspires every day. Going to school in Uganda is not easy due to poverty, and teachers like Mubiru are vital. Please join us in supporting his recovery so he can continue his important work and change lives for years to come.
