Help Mētztli start a wolf sanctuary & have a home
Hi, I'm Mētztli and I need your help making a difference by starting a wolf sanctuary and finding a stable place to call home for me and my pack. It's my life's goal to start a wolf sanctuary, where I can also call home and continue to run my online business. It would mean the world to me to have this dream come true, especially as a disabled, self-employed multi-marginalized person.
I'm asking for your help because, after the unexpected, tragic loss of my sister-in-law 2 weeks ago, my grieving husband has decided to leave me and our 3 dogs, cat, and reptiles, to focus solely on his career. The loss of his sister has simply left him without the capacity or desire to be there for us going forward.
I live with PTSD and chronic illness, and am a survivor of domestic abuse from my previous first marriage, so I'm sure you can imagine that I'm not only devastated and grieving now 2 major losses in my life... but I'm also heartbroken without the love of my life and face much more adversity without his love and support. He's been a major source of light in my life and our relationship had restored my broken faith in love, with him I was able to envision a life recovering from trauma and a future of healing through building a wolf sanctuary together. My partner is suddenly gone now, and all I want to do to cope is to pour everything I've got into making this wolf sanctuary dream happen. It will help me continue to have purpose, healing and give back to the earth and save some of our sacred endangered relatives, the wolves.
So, here's what we need:
-professional packers and movers (as I cannot pack or move all my business goods and home by myself) Est $3k
-potentially a temporary house rental to live in (I cannot afford to stay in CA on my own)
-my car needs $4k in repairs to operate
-I need new specialty eyeglasses + exam $300
-a home cabin big enough for me and my girls + my business + wolf sanctuary headquarters
-legal service to change my business from an LLC to a B (benefit) Corporation, which is better than non-profit status, it's an ethical business model certification that lets folks know our actions match our mission to do better for the world
Soon I will be on my own navigating my health conditions while running my business as a single dog-mom.
I've dedicated many years of my life helping others via 11 years of non-profit work and 9 years of spiritual support through my business. And I want to keep going because it's what I'm meant to do here on Earth, but I need the most support I've ever needed now. It's a very big ask, but I guess this is my only shot left at a fulfilling life. I'm just a millenial, without much family, no life savings, trying to survive a pandemic as a small business owner, who wants a real chance to make the difference I dream of. There's no way I can save up for a wolf sanctuary when I'm constantly fighting to make ends meet. I need your help, the wolves need our help, and we need the wolves to avoid further ecosystem collapse and climate destruction.
