To all those that love & know Yolanda Chavez and her amazing family:

On July 8th Yolanda went into Johns Creek Emory urgent care to test for COVID- 19. Her breathing was off, she was barely able to speak and her body was causing her to have the shakes. She also began to experience severe flu like symptoms before hand. Once they began tests on her they found out that her oxygen levels were way below normal. She was then instantaneously put on oxygen because the doctor said if she had not made the decision to come in that day she would not have woken up the next day. She was put onto a ventilator due to COVID related Pneumonia.

After she was released from the hospital Yolanda was put onto blood thinners for the blood clot the doctor found that was created due to her covid related pneumonia. If anyone knows Yolanda they know she is a bright, strong and positive presence. Seeing her in this space was very foreign and scary. She has been bed ridden since she left the hospital with food being premade by family members and unable to fully function as she is still in the process of healing. She has been unable to be around family and misses her children and grandchildren dearly.

But while she is in the process of resting her mind and body lets all come together to support her and her family right now during this unknown and unbelievable time. The funds we raise here for the family will be used to cover their upcoming medical expenses which includes her 5 days at Johns Creek Emory. We also want to help with housing bills as well due to the fact that her youngest daughter lives w her and Yolanda will be out of commission from work due to the blood thinners and medication she has been prescribed to take.
