Hello everyone! I am Autumn Rain Johnson, Ms. Wheelchair Rhode Island 2023! I am starting to raise funds to help continue my goals in leadership & advocacy, & compete at the 51st Ms. Wheelchair America National Competition. The funds that I am asking to be raised will go towards the national competition, as well as, help with travel exspenses to get to nationals being held in Grand Rapids, Michigan this summer.

As Ms. Wheelchair Rhode Island I will be representing our small but mighty state, by using my platform to advocate, mentor, and speak out for the youth & adults with unique abilities (disabilities). I also will use my platform to help those with unique abilities that are struggling to adjust to becoming a young adult. As a person who lives life on wheels, I know what it is like to feel lost after leaving highschool and adjusting to being a young adult, so now I have a passion to help others in the same situation. As a young woman with Spina Bifida, who is working towards a bachelors degree in Organizational Leadership & Change and dedicate time to the board of directors for the Rhode Island Parent Information Network, where we all have personal experience caring for someone with a unique ability or have a unique ability, I want others who also are uniquely abled to know they can live a happy & successful life also, but learn how to overcome obstacles along the way.

Lastly, I am Narragansett Indian & aim to support & advocate for tribal members in the Narragansett Indigenous community while raising awareness to issues indigenous people face.

Rhode Island is coming to empower, educate, & grow connections in the disability world with other wheel women alike!
