Help Ms. Stone Overcome Cancer and Medical Bills

Hello everyone!! I have a story to tell.

To think that I went into the doctor’s office for an appointment with my PCP would lead to this unfortunate news that I’m about to share and I’m sure no one would want to hear. Well here’s the back story.

On October 21st 2024 I went to my appointment for a physical and while discussing the reasons for my visit I was asked by the nurse if I ever had a mammogram and my response was “no”. The nurse replied “Well let’s get that set up for you now”. She asked me if I had any questions and concerns about anything related to the visit and that’s when I told the nurse that I felt a LUMP in my right breast. I explained that I believe it’s been there for a couple months now. The nurse then told me that “we will not only set you up with a mammogram but also an ultrasound”. As I sat there for a moment I thought to myself that “I’m not about to put too much thought into this”. I went to my next appointment feeling nervous but still not any negative thoughts about it. Now my thoughts to myself were “please come out of this appointment with great news”.

The nurse came back in and said “Well Ms. Stone it looks like you just have a cyst in your breast but NOTHING LOOKS CANCEROUS”!

I honestly felt really good about that response and I thought that was the end result. Going through the process of everything the doctor wanted a little more reassurance of what exactly was going on with my body. The doctor told me that we’re going to setup another appointment for a biopsy. I initially inquired more about that procedure and the details of it and he explained all of all.

I went to my next appointment for my biopsy and I was told they would have my results back in a week or so. Now everyone please remember my thoughts originally leaving out was it’s just a cyst so I’m not thinking anything else about it.

My life changed October 21st 2024!! I received a callback from the doctor and they told read me the results of my test and they came back positive. Omg! I said positive for what?? Plus to my knowledge and my understanding I only have a cyst. Doctor proceeded to say “Ms. Stone you have a tumor in your right breast that’s cancerous” and at that point I didn’t hear anything else.

It’s been a long journey for me because honestly for years I’ve been a very healthy person. For that reason I’ve always had the bare minimum medical insurance and would only see the doctor 5 times out of a year. Since being diagnosed with cancer I’ve seen a lot of doctors. I’ve had my heart checked, MRI’s and other scans and I’m not covered for any of it!!

On top of me being diagnosed with cancer I’m trying to pay for it all out of pocket. I honestly know that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel for me. This situation at hand just makes me feel really sad sometimes. This is the beginning of my story. I’ll continue sharing my story throughout my journey. My first step is having my 12 weeks of chemotherapy.

I remember sitting and asking God why me? All I know is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”!! I’m asking everyone to please keep me in their prayers. I WILL beat this especially for my kids, family and most importantly MYSELF.
