Hello! My name is Sophie (or Ms. Sophie as the kids call me), and I am a school social worker at a public charter school in Austin, Texas. My school primarily serves low income students and families, many of whom struggle to meet their basic needs including housing, clothing, and food, despite our free breakfast and lunch program.

Fortunately, this school year I have access to a closet (photos attached) which I plan to keep stocked year-round with canned food to give to families in need. Could you picture this beautiful closet filled up with healthy soups, beans, vegetables, peanut butter, and more!? Could you picture students headed to the school-bus after a long day of learning with a bag full of nutrients, knowing for sure they would have enough for dinner!?
