It’s hard to put into words what Ms. Shana means to our family.

She wasn’t just one of my daughter’s very first teachers, but one my daughter still remembers to this day. Her family has been close, long-time friends of ours. She is someone we’ve known, trusted, and cared about for years. Someone who has always been there for others, both in and out of the classroom.

Now she’s facing the fight of her life.

Ms. Shana is currently undergoing chemotherapy and is in the final stretch of her battle against cancer. She has two treatments remaining, each costing over $52,000. These treatments are critical to her recovery.

As the treatments have taken their toll, she reached a point where she could no longer continue working. After more than 22 years of dedication, she was terminated when treatment made it impossible for her to continue working.

Instead of being able to focus solely on healing, she is now facing overwhelming medical costs while continuing this fight.

I’m asking for help for someone who has truly been part of our lives. Someone who has impacted so many children and families, including my own.
