Ms. Satta lives in Portland, Jamaica. She had a stroke several years ago which left her unable to walk. She has to be carried by her grandson (who is hearing impaired) if an event happens that she must be moved. All her bathroom activities must be taken care of from her bed. Ms. Satta's common-law husband (of whom she was his caretaker initially) passed away sometime after she became ill. Ms. Satta has the most beautiful sparkling eyes you've ever seen, especially when she smiles! She tends not to smile, however, for pictures, as she is missing a few teeth in the front; regardless, she still has a beautiful smile. We met Ms. Satta around 4 years ago when we moved to her district and immediately took a liking to her as she was very active up and down the steep hills and always had a smile. We would see her on laundry days washing her clothes by hand and hanging them out to dry on the "clothesline".

Today, I'd love to be able to help her get some financial assistance to be able to afford getting some physical therapy, possibly some dentures, as well as maybe a way to widen her doorway as her donated wheelchair cannot go through the very narrow doorway of the small wooden dwelling she abides in. As a result, she has not been outside in a very long time. She told me this morning that it would mean so much for her to go outside just to sit in the sun.

It hurts my heart as I plead to the Lord for forgiveness in taking for granted having access to the sun and the ability to walk!

I have never done this before, going online to seek any form of assistance, but my heart is touched by her situation and I pray that I'm able to convey a picture that might also touch yours.
