Hi, I’m DJ Sandman, and I’m reaching out during this incredibly difficult time for so many.

My heart goes out to everyone impacted by the recent hurricane, and I know that many of us are all feeling the weight of this crisis in different ways. My family is no exception.

Due to the events of Hurricane Helene on September 26, 2024 and Hurricane Milton a week later, my mother, "Nettie" Sandman, suffered substantial losses to her home of over 50 years, leaving it unlivable. The damage included but was not limited to flooding (2’ of salt water throughout the home), loss of all appliances (refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, hot water heater), all furniture, clothes, family photos, personal items, and more. As my mom is on a fixed income, since the recent loss of her husband, and my father, she did not have any flood insurance on her property. This endeavor will take us through rehab of the property, which will include replacing electrical, sheetrock, furniture, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, and appliances.
