Ms. Mayra, our beloved dance teacher and ASB leader at SDCCS, has been a cornerstone of our community for years. She’s not just a teacher; she’s the heart of so many school events that bring us together—Peace Day, Día de los Muertos, the talent show, and countless performances that have left lasting memories for our children and families.

But now, Ms. Mayra needs our help. She has been courageously battling leukemia for years and is currently facing her toughest fight yet. She’s undergoing radiation and chemotherapy to treat brain and mouth tumors. The treatments, along with the side effects, have forced her to take time off work. On top of that, she’s facing staggering medical expenses for necessary treatments and medications.

Despite everything, Ms. Mayra continues to show the strength, love, and dedication that have always inspired us. She remains determined to be there for her students and continue being the guiding light for our school.
