I have an amazing friend from my school who is in desperate, urgent need of help. Marquis Gates-Gordon is the kindest soul you will ever know. She worked in our school's dining hall, and she brought joy and smiles and hugs to every single person - students and adults!
Due to school closures and her husband's high risk category because of cancer, she has not been able to work for the past few months. They were living on his income from his stump grinding business. Unfortunately, the motor on his machine has died and now they do not have the money it takes to get it fixed.
They are surviving on her unemployment, which is not enough to get by. The amount we are trying to raise, $11,563, is the amount they need to get the new motor and get her husband back to work right away!!
Ms. Marquis, as she is known to us all, has shown so much love and support to so many of us. She is never one to ask, but instead, she is always the one to give. She always goes above and beyond to help others. She comes to all of our school's games, graduation and other events, just because she loves us!
Please help show her how much we love and appreciate her now that she is in desperate, urgent need of help.
