I was volunteering to help set up the campus for the new school year when I met Ms. Lorrie. She came up to me, introduced herself and told me how excited she was to have our child at school. She read their file and asked how she could make them more comfortable. I remember driving home thinking: We found the right school for our child and Ms. Lorrie is magical! We affectionately nicknamed her Ms. Frizzle because she was as magical as the teacher in the Magic School Bus.

Ms. Lorrie hasn’t disappointed. She is so creative, but her love for our children is her magic sauce! Now, Ms. Lorrie needs our magic. She is battling stage 2 cancer and will be out the remainder of the school year to recover from extensive surgery. She also has past medical bills from other health issues, and as if that’s not enough, last month her car was totaled by an uninsured driver.

If you have battled cancer, or know anyone that has, you’ll understand that support and knowing people are cheering for you helps you get through the bad days. She needs our magic to help her battle cancer.
