Help Ms. Jen Through Her Surgery and Recovery

My family has had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Jen for over 6 years. My daughters have participated in countless camps, Lights Camera Act Classes, and Paint Nights. She never ceases to amaze me with her bright smile, fun sense of humor, creativity, optimism, enthusiasm and ability to make all students feel at ease and welcome.

Ms. Jen is the treasured teacher of so many students and their families here in Norfolk. Whether your child has been involved in Lights Camera Act, a Summer Camp, a Paint Night, or an Exhale Theater Class you know how selfless, patient, kind and committed Ms. Jen is to all of her students.

Ms. Jen has a gift. She is an educational leader in our community. She has the ability to establish a positive rapport and connection with her students, while helping to set them up for success and achieve their goals. Ms. Jen’s activities never disappoint! Whether she has facilitated a chocolate syrup slip n’ slide, slime activity, painting a themed canvas, games to promote public speaking, dance parties, or making dream catchers out of cd’s from the 90’s, Ms. Jen puts her heart and soul into educating our children in a fun, inclusive and playful atmosphere.

Due to some health issues, Ms. Jen will be undergoing a major surgery in August. Post surgery, she will have a two month recovery period, and will be on bed rest and unable to work until the end of October. However, during this time, she will still need to cover her monthly expenses (rent, healthcare costs, groceries, utilities, and car expenses). Ms. Jen has shared that she also does not have employment benefits that would help with medical leave or short term disability.
