Hi, we are Mariela, Maxine, and Humza - students with the NYU Family Defense Clinic. We recently finished helping Ms. James defeat an unfair, combative, prejudiced legal system and are happy to help her move forward with parenthood and her life. However, ACS (the association for child services) is declining to continue transportation for her daughters to school. Ms. James is disabled with mobility issues, as is one of her daughters. Though Ms. James is willing to take public transportation and bussing as much as possible, there are certain days that she cannot walk the distance. Additionally, one of her children cannot take school bussing.

Consequently, we are fundraising for Uber/Lyft funds so that Ms. James can take her children to school. Ms. James is working on obtaining a driver's license, so we only need a temporary solution in the meantime. Any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated! All funds will go directly to Ms. James and be used for transportation to school.

Ms. James is an incredible woman and mother who has persevered through relentless challenges. She has taught us so much about kindness, care, patience, and bravery. Allowing her to take her disabled children to school is the least we can do. Thank you :)
