Help Ms. Hernandez and Family Rebuild From the Eaton Fire

Friends of Gardner, the parent group of Gardner Street School - a small public school in Los Angeles, is raising funds for our wonderful fifth grade teacher, Jessica Hernandez and her family. She, her husband and their two daughters have lost everything they own in LA's Eaton fire.

Ms. Hernandez and her family have lived in their house in Altadena for 13 years. It's the only home her girls have ever known. And Altadena, now completely devastated, has been where her children go to school and play sports, and where they have created their extended family and community. While they are incredibly grateful to be safe and together, they are going to be feeling the effects of this tragedy for a long time to come.

We know we cannot piece their lives back together, but we hope that we can raise some funds to help get them started. Or at least provide some relief from the financial stress of this heartbreaking catastrophe.

While there are lots of places to donate and lots of families that need assistance right now, she is one of our own in our small little piece of the world. All money donated here will go directly to Jessica and her family, in hopes that they can begin put their lives back together.
