Help Ms. Garrison- Flood Recovery Fund

My name is Caitlin Velasco. I am a teacher and mom who has had the pleasure of knowing Chris Garrison on both a personal and professional level for upwards of 8 years. Anyone who knows Chris knows she is a blessing to her students, her school, and her community. It doesn’t matter if she’s teaching math, hosting NEHS inductions, guiding students through Wright Flight- her selfless dedication to others shines through in everything she does.

Last week during one of Tucson’s most intense monsoons yet, Chris’ entire apartment flooded. She ended up with 3+ inches of standing water in her apartment. While some things have been recovered and are now in the process of being safely stored, many items were damaged beyond repair. Her apartment is uninhabitable while the complex makes the necessary repairs- we don’t know how long that will take. Thankfully she has a place to stay until the end of the month, but then she’ll need to move into a new apartment, which brings an additional slew of unexpected expenses.

Chris has served her community for so many years. It’s time for us to return the love and compassion she has shown others. The money raised will go toward storage fees, replacing her damaged items, a deposit on a new apartment, etc. Any amount is appreciated- please donate and share!
