Ms. Garcia is in her third year of teaching 7th grade English in North Texas. She’s already become the kind of teacher kids hope to get, especially students who are neurodivergent or don’t always feel like they fit in. She creates a classroom that’s safe, welcoming, and built on connection.
But right now, she can’t even get there.
Ms. Garcia's car has been out of commission since April due to Kia engine defects that are part of a class action settlement for catastrophic engine failure and engine fires. The car was damaged further while in the dealership’s care, yet Kia is refusing to replace the engine on an administrative technicality.
The car sits at Clay Cooley Central Kia while we continue pushing for accountability.
In the meantime, Ashlyn has no transportation to school, no way to earn extra income through delivery work, and no resolution in sight.
We’re raising funds to help fix or replace her car so she can keep showing up for her students, and for herself.
If you believe teachers deserve better, please donate or share.
Thank you for helping get Ashlyn back on the road.
