Help Ms. Boykin get to Educator Academy in Amazon

Hello, I am Synauri Boykin, a science educator from Alabama. I love teaching my students and serving my community. I have taught Biology for 14 years. I was chosen by Morpho Institute along with 24 other educators to attend the Educator Academy in the Amazon Rainforest. This is a great, yet costly opportunity. The Educator Academy in the Amazon provides professional development designed to transform student learning. I will gain experience in conducting scientific investigations, design challenges, and culturally sensitive placed based learning. I will gain an understanding and appreciation for the Amazon rainforest as a critical global life-sustaining biome, with an understanding of our role as global citizens in conservation issues.
