Help Ms. Alice Reopen Her Beloved Salon!

Dear Community,

I write to you today with a heavy heart, but also with a glimmer of hope. Our beloved International Hair Salon, a cornerstone of the Georgia Avenue Corridor for decades, faces an uncertain future. Ms. Alice, the heart and soul behind this establishment, needs our help.

Ms. Alice is more than just a business owner; she is a pillar of our community. Her salon has been a sanctuary for countless individuals, a place where bonds are formed, confidences are shared, and transformations both inside and out take place. But now, due to unforeseen circumstances, the salon has been forced to close its doors.

The cause? A stylist who rented the upstairs space proved to be negligent, causing extensive damages and repairs. Despite this setback, Ms. Alice has never wavered in her dedication to the community. She has always been there for us, offering discounts, house calls, and unwavering support. Her professionalism and generosity know no bounds.

As a client of Ms. Alice, I can personally attest to the love and warmth she exudes. She treats us not just as customers, but as family. Her embrace is like coming home, and her advice and conversation are always given with care and sincerity. Ms. Alice has been a guiding light in my life, supporting me in my endeavors and uplifting me in times of need.

Now it's our turn to support her. I urge you, fellow community members, to join me in rallying behind Ms. Alice and her salon. Let's come together to ensure that this beacon of light in our community can shine once more. Your donations, no matter how small, will make a world of difference.

The funds will be used to make these repairs and get the Salon back to it's true glory. This includes all of the damages and repairs that will be needed to get the shop to code per DC Business and Health codes.

These cost will include:
  • Repair of floor tiles
  • Washer/dryer purchase
  • Washer/Dryer fitting
  • Replacing the Door Frames/New Doors for front, back, and bathroom
  • Reinstallation of sinks, chairs and hair wash
  • Electric Work

Together, we can help Ms. Alice reopen her doors and continue her legacy of love, generosity, and community spirit. Thank you for your support.

With gratitude,
Andre Davis
