Help Ms. A Put a Down Payment On A Home

Hello! My name is James Taylor Odom and I am a close friend and former student of Katherine Alexander (AKA - Ms. A ). Since Ms. Alexander's parents passed away she found herself alone and really wanting to connect with family. This ultimately prompted her move to Florida in March of 2020 to be close to her brother, sister-in-law and niece (who is now 13 and in the 8th grade). In Florida she has gotten a job at Largo High School teaching math and she is ready to take that next step and buy a house closer to her brother and his family. Her biggest challenge is raising the funds for the down payment. As we have all experienced, the era of covid has brought many financial challenges. As a teacher it’s really hard for her to save money as she is currently living paycheck to paycheck. She needs about $8,000 for the down payment and I think it would be great if we could help our old drama teacher attain her dream of owning a home near her brother and family. She gave us so much when we were in school - so much of her time, her attention, her love and wonderful memories that we are able to carry with us for the rest of our lives. She impacted each of our lives to varying degrees and for some of us, drama gave us the motivation we needed to go to school each day. I can trace my journey of artistic successes all the way back to her. For that, I am forever indebted. I hope you would please consider giving something to help her out - even if all you can afford is $20 - let’s show her how much everything she did means to us and give her a memory that SHE will be able carry with her for the rest of her life. As a final thought, Katherine is turning 55 on January 17th. Maybe we can help make this birthday something extra special for her. Love & Light.
