Hafa Adai, my name is Mrs. Jorden Yee; I am a 34-year-old wife and mom of 3 young boys.

On 04/07/25, I was given the worst news anyone would want to hear. I am saddened to share that I was diagnosed with MALT Lymphoma (Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, a type of Cancer) in my right eye. Doctors are also monitoring my left eye as there may be signs of development. Doctors are ordering a PET-CT scan (and unfortunately, this could only be done off-island) to see if there may be more in other parts of my body and further testing/treatment.

On 06/10/25, my family and I left Guam to start my journey to be cancer-free. We anticipated that we would be out here for about 2 weeks to a month. As the appointment dates came closer and meeting with the doctors about my rare case, doctors confirmed the cancer is in both eyes, with the right eye being the worst. I was hoping after the additional testing and scans, I would be sent home with the game plan to start my treatments in the comfort of home, unfortunately that wasn't the case.

It has come before me and my family that due to the rare case and the extensive treatment, I would need to stay off-island for 2 to 3 months to receive the treatments and follow-ups to get me in the clear as my hometown, unfortunately, doesn’t have the care I need.

As the Yee’s navigate through this journey for their Mama Bear, she still needs to attend to our financial obligations back home, and having to endure an additional financial obligation for her medical care has put a lot of stress and worries.
