We are seeking assistance for our beloved Newport Harbor High School friend and colleague Mrs. Ceci Silva. She has taught Spanish at Harbor for 18 years. She has looked forward for several years to the joy of retirement this June. However, in the past few months she has experienced several serious health issues including a recent stroke. These issues have caused her to be hospitalized multiple times, depleting her accumulated sick leave to zero. Although her health requires that she stop working completely, it will be an extreme financial hardship for her to miss any additional school days. Her colleagues and I want to ensure that she fully recovers from her stroke, so we are hoping to raise enough money so that she can continue to rest at home until the end of the school year. Known to students as Mrs. Silva, she has positively influenced the lives of many young people!
