In January of 2020, my wife Kara was unexpectedly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, which is a chronic autoimmune disease that stops the body from producing insulin. We recently found out we are pregnant with their 3rd child (praise God!). However, being a Type 1 diabetic and pregnant is a high risk, as glucose levels are harder to control. This drastically increases severe and potentially fatal risks to the both the Kara and the baby.
There is a device called a Dexcom that will monitor the insulin levels, and alert us when her levels go too low or high (which as of now is extremely frequent). However, the insurance company gave us an estimate of about 5k for one year, and will be a reoccurring 3.5k a year following for supplies. As we are working to try and save for a vehicle that can hold all 3 children, we are humbly asking for the body of Christ to help us with the cost of the Dexcom for one year.
If you are able and the Lord has placed it on your heart, please consider contributing what you are able. Thank you for your continued love and support!
